April 18 – Short Course – “Kickstart Your Season for Success” – SOLD OUT
Join CAFF in the picturesque setting of the 4-H retreat and conference center for a day of critical knowledge, classroom presentations, and hands-on activities for beginning small to mid-scale farmers. Presenters are from CAFF and local farms. The cost is $15 per person and includes lunch. Register by March 31.

April 24 – Beers with Farmers
Everyone welcome! Mix and mingle with farmers. Learn all about Community Supported Agriculture. What are CSA programs, and how do they work? Discover local farms that offer CSA shares. Farmers, network to share info on your CSA or get tips, tools, and resources for launching. Orthodox Farmhouse Brewery practices an agrarian, small-batch tradition in a beautiful scenic location. Don’t miss this one!

June 17 & 18 – Short Courses – Sustainable Pest Management for Specialty Crops
Topic: Organic Solutions, Tools, and Techniques. Create a fertility plan based on cover crop contributions, cover crop mixes, seeding methods and rates, soil and foliar sampling, organic fertigation, economics of cover crops

September 16 & 17 – Short Courses –Advanced Soil Health & Nutrition for Specialty Crops
Topic: Pest identification, scouting and trapping; building a pest management plan; sprayer calibration for a bed or a field.

November 18 & 19 – Short Courses – Efficient Irrigation & Water Management for Specialty Crops
Topics: Design and build an automated irrigation system; determine when to turn on the irrigation system and how much water to apply; learn how to efficiently use water from rivers, creeks, ponds, rainwater catchment tanks, wells, and rural water supplies.
