Farm Description
Blue Mountain Vegetable Farm consists of 34 acres nestled between 2 ridges and alongside a creek. Patrick and Destiny operate a 1-acre market garden, growing specialty cut flowers and shiitake mushrooms. A small variety of vegetables to market and a more extensive array of vegetable varieties for meals are also produced.
Patrick and Destiny are a young couple in their fourth growing season. Patrick runs the farm full-time. Destiny has a full-time remote job and assists during time off. The farm implements low-till methods in a market-garden format. 2 small propagation houses are used to start many of the farm’s transplants and four Farmer’s Friend Caterpillar Tunnels, which allow for vegetable production year-round.
